The Cookie Monster

I'm starting my detox on Monday so I'm trying to ram loads of unhealthy, ridiculously high in calorie foods into me before i start having to turn them down :( Thanks to Vivianna Does Makeup today i've been busy baking these delicious, gooey, completely chocolatey treats! (I don't even want to know how many calories are in these) but they are SO worth it. I bake quite regularly but i've never been very impressed with the cookie recipes i've made before. Never the less, i couldn't be any more satisfied with these ones that i've made! They taste exactly like Ben's Cookies... and dare i say it.... BETTER than Millie's Cookies. Creds to the guy Anna got the recipe from!!

If you want to make these cookies then you will need:
  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 257g self-raising flour
  • 75g cocoa powder
  • a dash of milk
  • 2 BIG bars of chocolate of your choice (I used milky bar and cadburys)
pre-heat oven to 220°C (200°C for non-fan)

1. chuck your butter and sugar into a mixing bowl and stir until it's creamy and fluffy (make sure your butter is at room temperature, otherwise you'll be there forever trying to mix them together)
2. add your egg into the mixture and stir until it's all mixed in well
3. sift the flour and cocoa powder into the mixture and fold that in- this will take a while if your not using an electric whisk! you'll probably find that the mixture is really dry so if it is then just add a splash of milk until the mixture is stiff but not dry and not runny. it should be at a texture where its hard to stir because it's so firm
4. break up the chocolate and throw into the mixture then give it another mixture together
5. line two or three trays with baking paper and from the mixture grab golf ball sized balls, roll them into balls and place apart on the tray (the cookies are going to flatten quite a bit so make sure they're a generous space apart).
6. pop them into the oven for about 9-12 minutes depending on how gooey and sloppy you want them. i had them in the oven for 10 so that the chocolate was completely melted but they were done around the edges.
7. Let them cool down for about 10-20 minutes and then BAM you can enjoy your cookies.

you could also add different things into the cookies such as peanut butter, fluff, marshmellows, smarties, m&m's.....

if you bake these cookies then you can upload a picture of them and tag me in it (daisyfleurxo) so i can see you guys' cookies

im going to go and eat a cookie now because writing this blogpost has made me want one.... YUMMY

OPI start to finish

OPI start to finish- Boots £13.25

A while ago my nails went through a stage of feeling really weak and limp probably from all of the painting my nails i do and then a lot of the time i'm really naughty and tend to peel my nail varnish off. They were so weak that i could bend the tips of my nails down (ew!) but i received this for christmas and it's an absolute god send and i can tell this is going to be a holy grail product of mine for ages and ages. I use this as a base coat and also when i don't have any colour on my nails, which is only really during the week as i'm not allowed to wear nail varnish to school. It has made a noticeable difference to my nails and i can't bend them at all anymore. My nails also look a lot more healthier and grow that little bit quicker. I think that the price is definitely worth it, if your like me and love to take care of your nails!

Elegant Touch Rapid dry spray

Rapid Dry for nails: Boots £3.05

This product is an absolute god send! It makes my life SO much easier when i've just painted my nails, i dont have to worry about needing the toilet but smudging my freshly painted nails at all. When ive finished painting both of my hands i spray this over all of my nails, it says it dries them in 60 seconds but i wait for about 5-ish minutes just to be sure it's had time to work it's magic. Im not saying this spray completely freezes the nail varnish and is instantly dry enough for the polish to not smudge or anything. You still have to be wary and careful with what your doing with your nails, but the Rapid spray just protects it that little bit more. After i've waited for that it do it's thang, i REALLY REALLY lightly dust a tissue over my nails as the spray leaves a horrible oily residue on the fingers and nails which your topcoat wont stick to. The spray also leaves a matt sort of finish on the nails so thats why i always apply the top coat after spraying my nails with this.

MAC Chatterbox Lipstick

              MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox: £14

There's so many lipsticks that I want at the moment but Chatterbox has been at the top of my list since I saw Tanya Burr wearing it and I immediately wanted it. Chatterbox is one of those products that once you've applied, you instantly feel better about yourself! Its a lovely blue toned warm Pinky colour that i think would suit most skin tones. When I want more of a noticeable, bolder lip colour I just apply it as normal but on days where I want the same sort of colour but just to be a bit more subtle I just work it into the lips with my finger and it still gives a great colour pay off.

Whats your favourite MAC lipstick?
